June 2019: We asked our pupils, parents and staff what words they would use to describe the ethos and character of The Rissington School.

Welcome to our outstanding Cotswold School

The Rissington School is a friendly, vibrant school set in the picturesque Cotswold villages of Great Rissington  and Upper Rissington. We cater for children from 3 to 11 years of age and currently have 230 children on roll, who are taught in either the Victorian building  in Great Rissington or the newly completed building in the developing area of Upper Rissington, Our before and after school provision, "RASCAL"  offers childcare to support our families. "Chipmunks", a provision for pre-school learners, which welcomes youngsters from the term after they reach their third birthday, is on the Upper Rissington site.

At The Rissington  School we make school a very happy experience. We are a school where there are expectations of excellence, where individuals are valued, achievements celebrated and where children are happy and safe. We have a tremendously energetic and creative staff who are all committed to providing a wonderful primary school education for all of our children. We pride ourselves not only on the high academic standards that our children consistently achieve, but also the development of a love of learning across all curriculum areas and fostering a positive mindset for all children.

Our school is held in the highest esteem by pupils, staff, parents, governors and the community.

Here is what some of our pupils think of our school:

"The children and teachers are kind"

"School gives us a good education.  Sometimes the work can be challenging and sometimes it can be fun''

"You are well looked after in the playground."

"The school grounds and the special place are great."

"We like having responsibility."

In 2011 we were given Ofsted’s highest possible grade of "Outstanding".  Although the school has changed considerably since then, our aim is to continue to develop the school, embracing new ideas, methods and technology, in order to continue to give our pupils the best experience we can. The best way to get an idea of life at The Rissington School is to come and see us in action!
