We are fortunate to have a very active 'Friends of the School'.
Parents of children in school automatically become members of the Association, which is supported by staff, parents and the local community. Various events are organised throughout the year in order to bring parents together socially and to raise funds to support the school.
Thanks to funds raised by the Friends, the children are able to enjoy equipment and events which enhance their curriculum. For example, each year the Friends make a donation so that every child in KS2 can go to the pantomime at Christmas. Funding is given for class visits and theme days in school.
There are always events planned, which include regular fund-raisers like the summer fete and Christmas bazaar, but along with these there are one-off events; examples being a frog race, quiz evenings and an auction of promises. We are always open to ideas!
The friends are run by a small core of volunteers, but many parents come along to the meetings, which are held in school or the local pub (The Lamb), when they can spare time to help. Everyone is very friendly.
If you can offer a little time then it can make a huge difference!
